Kink Cards and Punk Bands

The X Directory book is a compilation of kink cards which were found at phone booths between 1984 and 1994 in seedier neighbourhoods of London. The book was republished by artist Matthew Bellosi who made some of the cards appear more visible than in a book. Even though kink cards aren’t usually used as a form of inspiration, they show a great composition and how various typography works well on a small artwork. The majority of hardcore and punk bands take inspiration from the 90s unpolished kink cards for their visual identities.
