What could me more fitting for a book celebrating collector’s edition graphic design than a limited edition, hand drawn artist series of its own. This was always author Stuart Tolley’s intention, when he started work on ‘Collector’s Edition: Innovative Packaging and Graphics’ a few years ago and was published by Thames and Hudson this August. “Contributors were always asking me if a collector’s edition of my book was being released and it seemed like the perfect way to complete the project.” Feature
Here we are with our third visual archive from Bridge Unltd, taking you on a journey from fighting monsters to flowers and all of the bits in-between. Follow them on Instagram for more delicious imagery and you can also buy some of their impressive, handprinted merchandise. Feature
After the totally incredible response to our previous post 20 Screen Print Artists You Should All Know About, we have decided to give you guys another. This time we are showing you a fantastic list of comic book artists, in alphabetical order. Enjoy! Feature
Our good friends and studio members, Bridge Unltd have kindly agreed to create a weekly post demonstrating their visual taste, which inspires much of their apparel design. Bridge Unltd is a partnership between entrepreneur Jamie Leith and artist Jim O’Raw, who was featured in our 20 Screen Print Artists You Should Know About. All of the images are taken from their huge archive of imagery and we have created them in a square format so you can easily share them on Instagram. Feature
Puck Collective returned to Pick me up this year with their dope transfer Tattoo Studio “Puckleduster” – beautifully set up (of course) with framed designs and chairs inviting the public to get their own tattoo. I was also lucky enough to bump into the amazing illustrator John C Thurbin who was busy working on a Lino – print. The Middlesex university graduate is a London based print-maker and illustrator who makes staggering imagery with attention to detail and precision through his strong focus on Lino-cut and ink – definitely one to watch Feature
This week we have the guys from Catalogue Studio in Leeds contributing to the site. Both Tom and Oliver know what they are talking about when it comes to anything print related. We are very fond of their work and are very happy that they are adding to People of Print.
Luke Frost is one third of Heretic and two thirds horse, or so we are lead to believe. Either way, he is this weeks contributor and he will be cooking up some delights for you all. Luke has a really impressive portfolio of screen prints, but that’s not all he does. Illustration, design, printmaking and general creative idea generation (often nonsense) are all in his skill book. We are very excited to have him contributing.
Do you have a passion for print and a flare for editorial work? We are looking for a new person to be our contributor. If you feel that you have a wealth of knowledge for all things print or design related then please send us an example of what you would post on our blog section to: firstname.lastname@example.org
This coming week we have Charlie from Beach London contributing to our site. He has a lot of awesome things lined up for your viewing pleasure. He clearly has an eye for all things that are awesome because he directs what is on display in his store. We are very fond of this guy and he likes to make a strong punch at his private views.
