Do you want to see 581 prints from 42 print workshops across the UK &Ireland in one space? From this Saturday 10th January until Sunday 22nd February 2015 the 20:20 Print Exchange (2014) will be exhibited at neo:gallery27, in Bolton, and this exhibition will be the first of many to open in the neo:studios new gallery space for 2015. The 20:20 Print Exchange, which launched in 2009 as a collaborative project between Hot Bed Press, based in Salford, and Red Hot Press in Southampton, has continued to grow each year and attracts artists, designers and printmakers, asking each one to produce 25 limited edition prints on paper, (20cmx20cm) of one design, using their medium of choice. Each artist involved pays a fee of £10 and in return receives a bespoke hand screen printed box which includes a set of 20 randomly selected prints, their own print plus 19 others. As well as the prints being exchanged from workshop to workshop one print from every participant is kept by Hot Bed Press to exhibit and tour nationally.
The 20:20 Print Exchange started its 2015 tour at Hot Bed Press with a range of the prints on show but it is neo:gallery which will play host to the full collection of prints before moving on to West Yorkshire Print Workshop from March to April, The Art House, Wakefield form May to June, Belfast Print Workshop starting in July until August and finally The Bluecoat, Liverpool from September to October ready to begin the full cycle again with a fresh collection of limited edition prints next year!
