Owen Gildersleeve : Paper Cut The Exhibition

posted by Emma Fisher September 1, 2014

There are few times that you get to see the work of so many great paper cut artist in one place, but to coincide with the release of his first book Owen Gildersleeve has done just that. We went down to the event launch at The Proud Archivist in Haggerston, London, to see the book brought to life with 25 of the best paper cut artists showcasing what they do best with original artworks and prints for sale.

The book features the most up to date selection of paper artists around, including Chrissie Macdonald, Kyle Bean, Hattie Newman, Jeff Nishinaka, Rob Ryan and of course Owen himself to name a few. The book gives a real insight into the intricate work of the paper cut artist, which delves into the use of the artwork within commercial and personal projects. It is inspirational to any budding paper cut artists as well as a joy to others to see the creative diversity of paper.

The exhibition is running until 25th September and also features a series of talks and workshops.
(The next this Wednesday, featuring Owen Gildersleeve and others for a night of insight, talks, questions and answers.)

Head to The Proud Archivist to find out more about events and tickets this coming month.
