I was lucky enough to go to uni with Sam Hamer and can safely say his work was always my favourite to look at in class, I thought it was about time I caught up with the AMAZING illustrator / Designer because if you havn’t seen his work yet your really missing out – he’s definitely one to watch.
Currently based in his hometown of Stratford-Upon-Avon Sam recently returned home from the City, where he spent 3 years living south of the river studying Graphic Design at LCC (specializing in print and illustration.)
The talented designer often takes photographs but spends most of his time drawing from his home-studio where he enjoys “sitting and drawing crazy things with (his) two dogs.” With a lot of focus being directed towards personal projects, Sam’s tactile & humerous illustrations reflect his thoughts and emotions, he explained “I don’t really have any set themes, I just go with how I’m feeling that day. I try to laugh at my thoughts and make them fun on paper, initially when they’ve been released it can feel quite awkward but I hope people might feel the same way and relate to them”
Stay tuned for more info about Sam’s up and coming collaborative project and for now check out his amazing online portfolio via his website.
