Having launched as an online publication in 2014, Eye On Design has gone from strength to strength, using it’s former founder Steven Heller’s inspiring visions to continue its mass popularity and value. Their online platform is now filled with promising contributors and designers, discussing and refocusing the conversations about today’s design world.
To give this publication a little more context, Eye on Design was founded in 2014 by Perrin Drumm as AIGA’s premier publishing platform. AIGA is one of the oldest and largest design membership organisation in the United States, and Eye of Design being their not-for-profit venture.
Eye of Design’s pages contain an approach that tackles a vairety of important topics such as mental health, sexuality, education, and gender disparity all through a design lens. Usually contained with a digital prison, Eye of Design has escaped in the form of a quarterly print magazine, offering a new playground to experiment with design ideas, printing methods and story formats.
