Space Explorer, once a Kickstarter campaign by Robin Mellor, is pioneering new model for a worldwide public art & design exhibition. The app itself inspires exploration, embracing everyday surroundings and transforming them into moments of wonder and discovery. Leaping outside the box and transcending restrictions traditional galleries, Space Explorer utilises mobile phone technology to enrich the experience of exhibitions for everyone.

Space Explorer transcends the restrictions of the stuffy, traditional gallery and utilises mobile phone technology to make the experience richer for everyone. The first instalment in the series – titled Another Space & Time will turn Hackney’s untapped outdoor spaces into a thought provoking journey through North America’s desert communities. They have physically hidden 15 giant images around the streets of Hackney, and the app works as a map to locate them whilst immersing you into their bespoke soundscape. Whilst on your journey you will experience each image’s individual soundtrack which is activated and altered dependant on your GPS zone.
