Vangardist Magazine :: The HIV+ Issue

posted by Anna Chayasatit May 6, 2015

Australian men’s publication Vangardist has printed an edition using ink infused with the blood donated by three HIV-positive donors in support of the battle against HIV and AIDS. Vangardist teamed up with Saatchi & Saatchi Switzerland to create 3,000 special copies of its spring edition in order to trigger debate and raise awareness of the disease.

Nowadays, people with HIV are still facing a hard social stigma of exclusion. They live with fear of losing their families and friends because most of the people are still afraid to be in contact with people with HIV. This blood-printed edition of Vangardist is produced with an aim to celebrate HIV Heroes. It used a standard offset printer and followed strict guidelines to make sure that physically handling a copy of the magazine causes no risk of infection.
