Hansje van Halem

A collection of textile prints, posters, book designs, hand sketches and the Stone Tile installation by graphic designer Hansje van Halem are now on display at Artspace Galerie Block C in an ancient city of Groningen, the Netherlands. For over a decade, design graduate from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Hansje Van Halem has worked as an independent graphic designer, solving design and editorial problems by experimenting with type and material.

She devotes herself to trying out different techniques in order to create letters, print textiles and patterns. She merges her digital design with hand-drawn elements, resulting in stunning sets of unconventional prints and original designs. On top of that, she is also a founder of Schrank8 Home Gallery, a showcase cabinet in Hansje’s place in Amsterdam where a rotating cast of artists/designers are invited to fill the space every two months.
