Zio Ziegler

posted by Lo Parkin April 3, 2013

Based in San Francisco, Aritst Zio Ziegler looks at painting as his ‘attempt at self understanding’ creating ‘an experience for the viewer that parallels his search in creation’ translated through colour, line, pattern and symbols. Growing up fascinated by graff (particularly wild style pieces) Zio started to think of Art as a ‘distinct intuitive mark that searched for individualism’ reflecting surrounding culture. Initially painting on canvas and wood the Artist found his canvases were getting larger and larger, and after painting his first mural in a local café (in trade for free pancakes) things were never the same again – he was ‘addicted to gigantism’
