Perrott Bespoke Printing

posted by Anna Chayasatit June 26, 2014

Cinematographer Guy Gotto has created a truly stunning short film depicting the story of a four generation printing company, Perrott. For almost a century, Perrott have been providing varied print services including die-stamping, blind embossing, thermography and lithography from their factory in North London. Gotto took an insightful look at the family’s characteristic of inventiveness and what the film shows triumphantly is current owner Steve Perrot’s painstaking attention to detail and his dedication to producing supreme quality craft.

Captured through the lens of a filmmaker who specialises in both cinematography and art direction is a beautiful process of die stamping – a tactile process that has to be executed with precision. Today there are not so many people left to do the work and thankfully Steve is currently handing over the business to his daughter Catherine who is also very excited to keep their family tradition alive.

Father and daughter team Stephen & Catherine Perrott will discuss the traditional printing techniques at East London Printmakers on Tuesday 21 July 2015 at 7.30pm. To RSVP, please click here!
