FEMME TYPE | Published

posted by Amber Weaver August 12, 2019

After a thrilling Kickstarter Campaign (they hit their £4500 target in under 72 hours) the FEMME TYPE book is now successfully published and launched at Signature Brew Bar & Taproom and Village Bookshop in Leeds in early July. Printed by Pressision Ltd, published by People of Print (In Perpetuum), the book features an additional gatefold and 12 extra pages (totally 272pgs) showcasing the work of just under 50 talented women including a special interview with co-founder of Slanted Publishers Julia Kahl, who helped create Slanted established type platform and publication(s).

At the London launch, many supporters came to browse the book, had a few drinks to celebrate the project, and took part in the live screenprinting artwork by Johanne Lian Olsen and My Name is Wendy on a DIY screenprint paper print set up. At the Leeds launch, people came to view the exclusive exhibition in Village’s gallery space upstairs featuring blown up A2 Giclee prints of some of the gorgeous artwork found inside the book printed onto high-quality Hahnemuhle paper.

Currently hitting shelves, this project highlights the power of supporting the independent. Supporting something you feel passionate about makes you feel part of making that difference in the industry and community, and there isn’t a feeling quite like it. The book is no longer on preorder and can be bought directly from the FEMME TYPE store, or below, located on our curated marketplace Department Store.
