As Summer fast approaches, there are loads of wonderful events happening that we are delighted to share with you. From the 7th-10th of June, at the Islington Mill, London-based artist Nick Booton aka Brui has curated a fabulous event titled In One Room, which invites 10 contemporary printmakers from around the UK to showcase fresh ideas in the heart of Manchester. With 20 brand new works on display, this exhibition aims to highlight new explorations in risograph and silkscreen printing with a carefully selected gang of image makers leading the way in these disciplines.
This exciting event brings together “a virtual community of tastemakers and modern thinkers to discuss new ideas, build networks, plan projects and bask in the beautiful”, Booten tells us. With exhibitors carefully selected and range from places like Glasgow, Manchester, Brighton, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull and Norwich. These talented artists are composed of creatives early in their career who are exploring new avenues in print each offering a unique and experimental perspective on their medium.
To accompany the event, Booton will be creating a limited edition publication which will include artist interviews and in-depth editorial pieces. Each artist will be making two brand new pieces of the exhibit so this is one not to be missed out on!
