‘TM RSI SGM 1960-90’ is an online archive that is derived from a research on the Typographische Monatsblätter (TM). It is a comprehensive library set up with an aim to share selective information collected for a research project within the ECAL Lausanne. The Typographische Monatsblätter has been one of the most important journals to successfully disseminate the phenomenon of ‘Swiss Typography’ to an international audience to date. With over 70 years in existence, the journal witnessed significant moments in the history of modernist graphic design and typography. So modernism? Maybe it’s not your cup of tea.
