Grimm Prints

Grimm Prints is an independent clothing brand predominantly working with DTF (Direct to Film). The brand was founded by Craig Robinson, who has self designed the whole of Grimm Prints alternative clothing and apparel offering. The collection ranges from newborn to adult sizes, ensuring there’s something for the whole family, without the need to break the bank.

Craig studied Fine Art at Huddersfield university, which is where his passion and curiosity for art expanded. However, after leaving university he became a chef, and used his talents and skills to make art on a plate. Today, he creates printed clothing inspired by the world of tattooing. Craig tell us; “I’ve always been a huge fan of artists such as Derek Hess and HR Giger.” He continues; “The subject matter will heavily impact my inspiration when creating an image which means I don’t have just one set style.”

Grimm Prints also offer a variety of DTF printing services which are catered to each client. For custom work and business, Craig works closely with the client to ensure a full understanding of the brief that’s required, discussing the style, brand, and visual attributes they require. From there, he alters his final approved images into a DTF style print. When working on his own range, he prefers one of two final styles; “A simplistic ‘black and white’ creation, as I find the contrast into the garment works incredibly well as a final piece. But also a full colour piece, as it gives a ‘sticker’ like appearance.”  Craig currently uses Photoshop for all of his designs, as well as drawing tablets, and then works with an A3 DTF printer, heat press, and oven.

“My aspiration would be for Grimm Prints to be a house hold name, both for a clothing brand and the art prints available,” concludes Craig. From there, he would aim to branch out to offer a printing service that would support those studying Art, offering the opportunity to create their own work at an affordable rate. Along with supporting students, he hopes to give back to communities by helping create affordable printing and advertising for businesses.
