Emily Burns is a Painter & Illustrator that works in both Central Pennsylvania and New York. Emily’s beautifully realistic & surreal paintings reference a selection of both techniques and influences from traditional oil painting to digital photography, the American pin-up and taxidermy.
Emily’s recent paintings ‘describe the physical juxtaposition between the inherent urge to exploit ones short-lived youth and the pressures of adhering to social expectations’ questioning society’s vision of the ‘perfect’ female.
