Artist Kenji Nakayama was born on the Island of Hokkaido, Japan. Kenji was educated as a mechanical engineer before moving to Boston in 2004 where he studied traditional sign painting. Working as a footwear designer by day Kenji’s artwork documents and responds to the environments surrounding him.
I love his signs, each hand-painted in enamel on a found antique saws.
