Liberty x Studio Boo

posted by Cara Bray June 26, 2014

As a luxury department store known for it’s rich history of individuality and iconic window displays, it made sense for Liberty London to support one of the biggest art exhibitions this year. Honouring the collection of Matisse works currently on show at the Tate Modern, Liberty approached paper artists Studio Boo to design an engaging and celebratory display for London being the first city to host the artist’s work.

Inspired by Matisse works based on the sea, artists from Studio Boo used this as a starting point for their ideas. Combining organic shapes and layered structures to compliment selected items from the store, the Liberty Visual Merchandising team hoped to express emotive colour and form to reflect that used in the work of Matisse.

All the prints used were taken from the Liberty Art Fabrics archives with these being printed onto premium GF Smith paper by Shades Of Colour Digital Print.
