Aiming to expand their exciting and passionate printing business is screen printing studio The Present Workshop. Who currently have a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds to expand their studios and workshop spaces. Which you can access here.. to help raise money for their cause! The Present Workshop offerers workshops and open memberships for artists, designers and creatives in Stoke-on-Trent. Located on the first floor of the Entrepreneurs Store in Hanley, The Present Workshop has been growing in popularity over the past 2 years. Exciting new additions include Jay from Grey Jam Press re-locating from London to Stoke-on-Trent to become the workshop’s resident printer – having extensive experience printing for some of the best artists in the UK. This popularity means that they have outgrown their space and are in need of the support from the creative communities in order to expand.

The plans involved with this new expansion consist of moving the worksop to a larger, more dedicated location. Allowing the team to offer better, more suited facilities for members and hosting workshops, in addition to increasing their capacity to take on print jobs. New equipment would also be included within this investment, expanding the services the team can provide and allowing for a resident printer to run workshops and assist members. In return for people’s kind pledges, Present are providing fabulous prints and other gifts as a thank you!

So far, Present has launched with six artists such as from Gent48, Bilos, Jade Simpson, Famous When Dead, Piano and Mr Gauky — with more artists’ prints set to be added further into the campaign. There are also print jobs, workshops and our their PW Editions products up for grabs for pledges of all amounts across the board.

What makes this campaign so humble is their passion of giving back to the community and their desire to keep the organic technique of printing alive. Present says “Our city is brimming with creatives from every discipline…By opening our doors to the public they have the potential to broaden their skill set, get advice from like minded creatives and even turn their talents into new business opportunities by producing their own prints, stationery or clothing lines.”

The biggest expense of their expansion will be new equipment and materials that will be the backbone of the new workshop. Present plan to install a 4 arm carousel, providing a dedicated t-shirt printing area, as well as an additional hand printing bench, bigger exposure and washout units, dedicated finishing/cutting area and improved storage facilities for their members.
