Weird Studio is an independent studio based in Florence, Italy, specialising in Graphic and Web Design. The studio was founded by Edoardo Cantarella and Giulia Tordi, who together provide consultancy and design direction. Commitment to craft is at their core: combining creativity and strategy, they shape strong identities.
Working in a digital environment most of the time, the duo felt the necessity to focus on something totally different to stimulate their creativity. Thus, in 2019, they bought a proof press and started experimenting with some metal and wooden letterpress type. The pair tell us; “Since day one, we knew that the every minute spent getting dirty our hands was worth it. So we started printing some posters on our own, then some commissions arrived.”
Today, Weird Studio provide small run letterpress printing and design service. Combining modern processes and antique printing techniques they always create something beautiful and unique.
The duo conclude; “The feeling of creating something with your own hands is so satisfying that we decided to share it with the community: workshops, collaborations, events and other aggregating activities are surely the part we love most.”
