Print Plant Art Book Fair 2018

posted by Amber Weaver November 22, 2018

As the festive season fast approaches, there’s loads of markets, fairs and other exciting events taking place. In conjunction with Amsterdam Art Weekend, November 23-25 2018, Looiersgracht 60 (Print Plant) has organised a bespoke 3-day art book fair for like-minded, independent publishers presenting a remarkable selection of artist editions, multiples, art catalogues, books, monographs, periodicals and zines. You can also find us their selling our lovely publishing projects such as Posterzine!

Amsterdam has a rich narrative history in artistic print culture, and as there are currently no book fairs focusing on art books in Amsterdam, the founders decided to take this opportunity and offer a platform for a selection of progressive publications that artists and publishing houses are producing today to show to the world.

We share a similar outlook with Print Plant, publishing has assumed a increasingly central position within artistic practices yet it is increasingly difficult to produce, distribute and present special art books in recent years – often due to the lack of funds. If a product isn’t mainstream, it does struggle, as many beautiful artists publication and titles are only on view in the shops of a few motivated and specialist booksellers, museum bookshops and galleries.

This has now all be changed for at least 3 fabulous days. Spanning 750 square meters of exhibition space, this fair invites visitors to learn and purchase from over 70 carefully selected independent publishers, antiquarian dealers, artists, galleries and printmakers who will be showcasing their works throughout the weekend. In addition you now view the exciting programme below consisting of book launches and signings, workshops, informal talks and more. Check them out!
