The first major UK show of work created by one of the world’s greatest draughtsmen and printmakers, Maurits Cornelis Escher, is now taking place at Dulwich Picture Gallery. Bringing together prints by the world-renowned artist of the 20th Century, the exhibition display includes woodcuts, lithographs, drawings, watercolours and mezzotints as well as exclusive archive material – a total of nearly 100 works from the collection of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag in the Netherlands.
M.C. Escher’s career as a printmaker dates from the moment he was studying at the School of Architecture and Decorative Arts in Haarlem, Holland. This exhibition provides a rare insight into the imaginative world of M.C. Escher through work that was executed with mathematic precision. The show runs until 17th January 2015. And due to the popularity of this exhibition, we advise you to pre-book tickets online.
