Learn the process of mono-screen printing with Underway Studio and create your own three colour print! Caitlin and Melissa from the collective are now hosting regular beginners workshops at their Brixton studio that are perfect for individuals, couples, groups of friends, or team building activities and birthdays.
In the 2.5 hour workshops you will learn the basics of screen printing along with a short history of this printing method. Underway Studio will show you how to use both paper and photographic stencils to make a unique screen print inspired either by some of London’s iconic architecture or the natural world. You will walk away from the session with your own piece of art!
All materials and refreshments (including a beer for over 18s) are provided – just bring your imagination! No need to prepare any artwork before the session, as you will learn how to make an image from scratch using paper stencils and a choice of two photographs in the class. No artistic experience is required either – the workshops are completely beginner friendly. Each class accommodates up to six participants, creating an intimate atmosphere and allowing for lots of questions and feedback.
