Minot Feroce is a queer linocut artist from Paris. After studying for a degree in Art History and English, Minot Feroce started their printmaking journey a year ago during the first lockdown, and it quickly became a real passion.
They started working on developing their own style using the linocut technique, which they describe as “Victorian art nouveau prints with a witchy twist”. In line with their photography work, their prints are mainly inspired by 19th century photographs, the occult, and classical paintings. Minot Feroce is still working everyday to improve their printmaking skills, and over the past year they have experimented with many different types of paper, inks, registration devices, and presses.
All of their relief prints are produced from their Paris home with a small hand press. However, for the past 2 months they have been trying out woodcut printing, and so far have completed four prints with more to follow. “I love it even more than lino,” describes the printmaker.
