Graphic Designer Faith Robert and ceramicist Kylie (ky.ramics) have teamed up on a new collection of ceramics. The Confetti Collection is a selection of vases, cups, and mugs that are carefully created by Faith and Kylie.
During lockdown, the pair decided that they wanted to collaborate together, bringing together their two passions and talents. “We came up with a collection that was playful and vibrant because COVID was anything but that,” describes Faith. The collection gives a new life to everyday objects using bright colours and interesting shapes, bringing more joy to everyday life.
Faith designed the bright cut-out shapes, while Kylie created the neutral ceramic pieces. They applied the glaze decals together by carefully finding a place for each shape in the design. Once the decals were placed onto the ceramic pieces, they took them to a kiln to get fired, and the shapes were fused onto the pieces.
This collaboration between the duo was a one-of-a-kind special collection that they thoughtfully put together. However, over the next year Faith will be focusing her attention on creating large paintings using acrylic on glass and canvas. Kylie is looking forward to working on a solo ceramic show, incorporating glaze decals onto vessels that vary in size, shape, and colour.
