AndreaCataRo, aka Andrea Rodriguez, is an artist and designer based out of Toronto, Canada. She specialises in creating stunning murals, lettering, and tropical illustrations, with bold colours and intricate details characterising her artistic style. Andrea skilfully integrates elements of nature, such as plants, animals, and letters, into her work. With her Colombian roots and Canadian lifestyle, she creates unique pieces that convey positive messages and bring joy to others.
Inspiration for her works comes from the vibrancy of the rainforest and Colombia’s rich flora and fauna. Andrea has built her art career through formal design education and years of hands-on experience. She uses traditional sketching techniques and digital tools, mainly Adobe Illustrator and Procreate.
As an artist, Andrea hopes to raise awareness about biodiversity loss through captivating and motivational messages. Wandering through the streets of Toronto, it is likely you’ll stumble upon one of her murals designed to brighten the day of anyone passing by.
Over the years, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed clients such as Lacoste, Publicis, Canadian Tire, and the City of Toronto.
“Every project I undertake is an exciting new adventure, whether it’s a commissioned mural for a corporate office or a social media campaign aimed at raising environmental awareness,” says the artist. Andrea continues; “It gives me great satisfaction to brighten someone’s day with my artwork”. Looking to the future, Andrea plans to expand her social media following and grow her practice internationally.
