posted by Louie Zeegen March 3, 2015

Craig Oldham of the Office of Craig Oldham and Oldham Goddard Experience, has designed a new book.

‘In Loving Memory of Work’ remembers the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike with a record of graphics associated with the movement.

There’s a limited edition jacket print with coal dust and there are 168 pages and five paper stocks. The headline typeface, Liaison, was designed by Oldham and is based on the Liaison Committee for the Defence of the Trade Union placards that were held high at the rallies.

There’s a foreword by Ken Loach and contributions by Jeremy Deller, Ian Anderson, Jonathan Barnbrook and Rick Poynor. All the proceeds from the book will go to the Orgreave Truth and Justice campaign which seek justice for all the miners victimised by the police at the Oregreave Coking Plant on June 18th 1984.

The book launches March 4th at the Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester, before going to the St Bride Foundation in London on March 6th.
