Pierre Poux

posted by POP Members May 14, 2019

Pierre Poux is an illustrator and designer based in Nantes, France. After a short stint in engineering school, he decided to return to his first love; illustration. Pierre studied graphic design at L’ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres in Paris. After graduating in 2016 he decided to move to Nantes and start his own business.

Pierre draws his inspiration from classical statuary postures and poses that he mixes with his diverse and varied contemporary influences. His work includes bizarre compositions of objects such as a cocktail made from sausages and a body-building hoplite, alongside classical imagery of pottery and architectural columns.

For Pierre, print is the best medium to connect with others as it allows for the creation of something real and tangible, which can often be lost in today’s climate of online social networks that don’t facilitate real human connections and interactions.
