posted by Robyn Pitts March 1, 2024

leafie, the pioneering media platform that delves into the realms of drugs and cultural phenomena, have teamed up with In Perpetuum, People of Print’s crowdfunding platform, to launch their debut print publication. Issue 01 of leafie’s bi-annual print magazine will create a beautiful physical space for content that doesn’t fit online, and will include in-depth features, untold stories, stunning photography, creative expression, and articles that demand distraction-free attention.

Since its inception in 2019, leafie has been at the forefront of providing unbiased and reliable information on substances like cannabis and psychedelics, fostering open dialogues and reshaping perceptions. As this demand for credible content continues to surge, leafie are embarking on a groundbreaking venture with its first-ever print publication. With a commitment to bridging education and entertainment, the inaugural issue of leafie Magazine promises to be a captivating compendium.

With a diverse array of content, leafie Magazine Issue 01 will offer readers a sensory experience like no other. From a deep dive into The UK’s growing obsession with edibles, to first-hand accounts of using psychedelics as tools of healing, the magazine promises to captivate both seasoned enthusiasts and curious minds alike.

“leafie’s debut print Magazine aims to create a tangible space for content that transcends the digital realm,” says Liam O’Dowd, Editor of leafie. “In an era where online platforms dominate, we recognise the value of physicality in storytelling. Our magazine will encapsulate the vibrant cannabis and psychedelic cultures of the UK and Europe, celebrating the individuals, activists, and pioneers shaping these landscapes.”

For many years, the media has had an uncomfortable relationship with drugs. Frequently, information is biased, inaccurate, and often dangerous. Liam adds; “Education is paramount in fostering understanding and dismantling stigma”. He continues; “With the leafie Magazine, we aim to challenge stereotypes, amplify unheard voices, and spark meaningful dialogues that resonate with readers from all walks of life.”

The crowdfunding campaign seeks to raise funds for the meticulous curation, writing, editing, design, production, printing, and distribution of the magazine. Contributors to the campaign will play a pivotal role in bringing this groundbreaking publication to life and fostering informed conversations around drug culture. In addition to pre-ordering the magazine, supporters can indulge in exclusive rewards, including premium enamel pin badges and slow-burning unbleached rolling papers.

As well as being supported by contributors to the crowdfunding campaign, the magazine will be funded by advertisers and sponsors from a broad range of companies. “We are delighted to support leafie with this project as we share their commitment to changing the narrative around cannabis,” says Daniel Mark Carr, Marketing Director of core sponsor Releaf.
