JORD.STORE | New Range

We’re excited to share an awesome new range of printed goods by POP Member and Graphic Designer, Jordan Gadeke. The range includes 7 prints, 2 sticker designs and hoodies, tote bags and planters! The collection is all about combining messages of positive reinforcement with products that are either practical or expressive; “things that people can vibe with and relate to that bring good thoughts to mind”.

The garments are printed using die-cut vinyl which is heat pressed onto the garment; .“..it’s not traditional, but it’s the most accessible form of print available to me at the moment and the quality of the outcome is always consistent”. The rest of the range was inkjet printed.

Jordan spent a good while working on the designs and the tone, with the aim to capture a positive message in a relatable way that also didn’t exclude anybody. Commenting on the design process, Jordan states; “When designing, the print material has to be considered in terms of applying it to the product so thinking of line thickness, weak spots where the vinyl could tear or where detail could be lost in a single colour print is important”. With all of this in mind, for Jordan it was a case of creating and gathering all of the designs, testing compositions and sizing on the products, and gathering feedback from family and friends in preparation for the it all to go live.

Currently a third year student at the University of Gloucestershire, this is Jordan’s first big product release, and was a process that he found “both exciting and daunting”. “The process was what I enjoyed the most – so seeing people actually wanting to take that home with them is incredibly humbling!” says the designer. Looking to the future, Jordan wants to continue pushing positive messages in any way that he can, especially in current times where the world is dealing with the pandemic and the targeted discrimination against minority groups. However, Jordan’s take is also coming from a place of “positivity over politics”, providing a break from the negativity that is rife in the news and media. Alongside completing his studies and working on his tore, he hopes to also work with mental health and other important social movements to continue spreading the good vibes and make a real difference.
