Maze creates beautiful contemporary artwork inspired by their mutual love of mid-century modern design. The creative Brighton Based couple, Jackie Doolan and her partner create graphic, nature reasoning handmade prints.
Their work ranges with bold patterns, geometric shapes with vibrant colour blocks that are inspired by 1950s educational books, mechanical drawing as well as nature being a great source of influence.
The creative duo produce limited edition prints, using a silkscreen process – which creates a beautiful tactile quality. All prints are made through an organic process, by using card stencils. Using a stencil enables the composition to be a intuitive creation. Once they are happy with the stencil, they move towards the final product. All their prints are created with an unique growth, like nature. Which gives the end results and each piece unique a unique quality and identity.
