Vasty: San Bernardo Art Series

Vasty is a multidisciplinary design studio founded by Mariano Pagella; an Argentinian graphic designer. After working in different studios and areas of design he decided to develop his own language of design and explore his own creative curiosity. Based in Barcelona and working worldwide, Vasty focus on the creation of imagery, visual expressions and identity. They operate with the purpose to generate bold, sleek and exquisite concepts by combining art direction and graphic design with craft techniques, all with an aim of achieving meaningful and iconic communication with a sensitive signature.

Vasty were recently commissioned to create a series of six images for bottled mineral water company Acqua San Bernardo’s monthly feature entitled San Bernardo Art Series. Art directed by Didier Falzone, every month an artist is invited to provide their interpretation of a theme linked to water. This was a great opportunity for Mariano to create a series of illustrations and images with great freedom. The concept was inspired and created as a small tribute to the Memphis movement. Mariano created a small still life world, full of patterns, geometric elements and backgrounds. The resulting images play with abstract shapes in both a colourful and monochrome palette, which work in harmony with San Bernardo’s new water bottle.
