Dylan Bakker — Lysergic

posted by POP Members November 7, 2018

Dylan is a translocated New Zealander who has been based in Berlin, making artistic screenprints for the last 8 years with his label Lysergic. As a new People of Print Member, his work covers a broad spectrum of styles, with a focus on the patterns and rasters of screenprint technique. As well as exhibitions with Berlin print focused galleries including whitegrid, Serigraffeur and Neuro Titan, his work is also to be found at the massive Mauer Park Flea Market alongside a smorgasbord of other Berlin producers.

Bakker works out of a non-profit collective workshop in Berlin’s Friedrichshain, hosting a once weekly open workshop there for all comers, facilitating the creation of artworks, t shirts, posters and promotion for community artists and causes. His latest series include “South Islands”, created from black and white analog photos he took in New Zealand in 2017. These were processed with digital distortions and printed with vibrant and intense colours for exhibition in Berlin.

As an artist, he works with photography, found images, patterns and analog/digital glitch creations to create works that more often than not are applied to screenprinted products for his label Lysergic. As well as art prints the range includes tote bags and gym bags, tees and hoodies, patches, buttons, stickers, artworks and small books. Check more of his work via the links below.
