Aspiration is the latest print release from Vienna-based illustrator and linocut printer Marion Kamper. Marion’s practice includes detailed illustrative studies of the animal and plant world, with inspiration coming from time spent in nature, working with old etchings and block prints, carved architectural ornaments, arts & crafts wallpapers, and textile design.
The printmakes tells us; “I’m always following very personal feelings when I create my artwork, like emotions that I’m dealing with at the time the art is created that I try to reflect in a visual way. This is of course paired with influences from numerous impressions and a desire to create something that I like to look at and be proud of.”
Aspiration is a 48 x 48 cm linoprint printed in 3 different colour/paper combinations in a Limited Edition of 50 pieces, signed and numbered by the artist. Thie piece is printed on beautifully textured Fabriano Rosaspina 220 gsm paper. There is also a letterpress edition available in different colour combinations.
