Jordan Bolton

Meticulous in approach, a conceptual interpretation defines the art of Jordan Bolton’s film posters, better defined as miniature masterpieces, representing each film only through object, colour and theme, in turn offering a unique and alternative viewing experience. Bolton crafts defining features of iconic cinematic classics including Pulp Fiction and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, beautifully capturing the signature aesthetic of each through the carefully considered styling and arrangement.

Entitled ‘Objects’, the series entails the process of watching the chosen films in slow motion on repeat, sometimes spending over 20 hours watching each film in order to realise every minuscule detail. This process leads to the recreation of around 100 objects, arranged accordingly to the theme of the film, thus each poster acts as an object driven walkthrough, celebrating the beauty of the unfortunately overshadowed elements, the art of the prop and creative direction.

Similarly, the ‘Rooms’ series offers an exposed view of the film set, offering the viewer a somewhat unprecedented understanding of the film as we are forced to perceive the film from an alternate angle. Using paper as the dominant medium, the posters detail miniature models of every room within the films, again maintaining extensive consideration of colour and detail, enhancing the originality of Bolton’s creations once more.

All film posters are available from Jordan’s Etsy here, perfect gifts for film fanatics, just in time for Christmas.
