Roby (Loredana Gengler Roby) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brussels. It was during her studies in Lyon that she first discovered artisan printing techniques, and fell in love with craftsmanship associated with it. After studying Graphic Design in France, Roby was admitted to the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Printmaking.

Over past few years and since she has graduated, Roby has focused on creating a repertoire of shapes inspired by moving bodies which she translates into patterns on both paper and textiles. Through her output, she aims to perpetuate old printing techniques, and enjoys working with different mediums including etching (mainly on zinc and copper), screen print, monoprint, and linocut. These artisan techniques offer her unique renderings and an infinite possibility of creation.

Roby plays and experiments with the boundaries between design and art, digital and print, still and moving images, and paper and textiles. Her work places great importance on colour, shape, and texture, inviting the viewer into her colourful world.
